The 3 main coaching offer models
1. Individual sessions per unit
The simplest model: you sell 1h or 1.5h sessions at a fixed hourly rate. Advantages: total flexibility for the client, no long-term commitment. Disadvantages: unpredictable income, risk of disengagement after a few sessions.
Typical rate in Belgium: 80-200 euros/hour depending on your specialisation and experience.
2. Structured programme (3-6 months)
A complete accompaniment with a defined objective, a set number of sessions, tools and exercises between sessions. This is the format that professional coaches value most as it is results-oriented and justifies a higher price.
Typical price: 1,500 to 5,000 euros for a 3-6 month programme.
3. Monthly retainer
A fixed number of sessions per month (e.g. 2 sessions + unlimited email access), invoiced monthly. Ideal for business coaches who accompany executives or teams over the long term.
Typical rate: 500-1,500 euros/month.
How to price and invoice each model?
| Model | Invoicing | Recommended deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Per-unit session | After each session or prepaid | No (or 100% prepaid) |
| 3-6 month programme | 30-50% at signing, balance on milestones | 30-50% required |
| Monthly retainer | 1st of each month, SEPA direct debit | First month prepaid |
Automate your retainer invoicing
If you offer monthly retainers, manual invoicing each month is time-consuming. Ledgerly lets you configure automatic recurring invoices: the invoice is generated and sent automatically on the 1st of each month, with automatic reminders in case of non-payment.
